In the 2024 installment of the Wu Tsai Institute’s Inspiring Speaker Series at Yale University, Professor Owen D. Jones explores the evolving relationship between law and brain science. Drawing on research from the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Law and Neuroscience, Jones examines how tools like fMRI may help illuminate decision-making, memory, punishment, and developmental differences in the brain while also addressing the ethical and practical challenges of bringing neuroscience into the courtroom. I graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Neuroscience. During that time, I worked in multiple labs, including the Harvard University Center for Brain Science in the Murthy Lab. I am an incoming 2L at NYU Law School and will be working as a judicial intern over Summer 2026. I am very interested in academia and in neurolaw, and would love to collaborate on any ongoing neurolaw projects. I am available part-time in summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
