- MacArthur Foundation Awards 4th Neurolaw Grant to Vanderbilt University
i. This 4th grant, in the sum of 1.4 million dollars, brings the Foundation’s total and generous support to Vanderbilt -- to create, focus, and launch the Research Network on Law and Neuroscience -- to over 7.5 million dollars. Read more here.

- How the Brain Makes Blame and Punishment Decisions
i. New work by researchers at Vanderbilt University and Harvard University confirms that a specific area of the brain, the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, is crucial to punishment decisions. Researchers predicted and found that by altering brain activity in that region of the brain they could not only change how much subjects punished hypothetical defendants, but could also do so without changing how much subjects blamed those defendants.

- New Overview of the Field of Law and Neuroscience
i. A new encyclopedia entry – on the topic “Law and Neuroscience” -- is now available here. It appears in the International Encyclopedia of Social and Behavioral Sciences (2nd Edition, 2015).
